These Founding Band Terms set out the founding-band offer for BandHQ Plus. They are offered by Vivid Vision Designs Ltd (company number 16091475), which operates BandHQ (“BandHQ”, “we”, “us”). They add to our Terms of Service, which continue to apply to every Plus subscription. Where the two differ about the founding offer, these Founding Band Terms apply.
1. The offer
The first 25 bands to start a paid BandHQ Plus subscription with the founding discount pay half the standard Plus price for as long as that subscription continues without ending. Places can be taken until 23:59 UK time on Friday 30 October 2026, or until all 25 have gone if that is sooner. Players pay nothing, as with every band.
2. Who can take a place
- One place per band. A “band” is one band in BandHQ. A band holds at most one founding place, however many administrators or accounts it has. Where two BandHQ records are plainly the same band, we treat them as one band.
- The subscription is taken on the web by an administrator of the band, as with any Plus subscription.
- Complimentary access is not a place. Plus access we have given a band at no charge (for example a design-partner or demonstration band) does not take or count as a founding place. Such a band can take a place only in the same way as any other band, by starting a paid subscription within the window.
- Trials are not places. Plus is not currently offered with a free trial. If a trial is ever offered, it does not take or count as a founding place.
3. How places are allocated
- When places open. Places open when BandHQ Plus is first offered for sale. We tell the waiting list the price and the opening date before we announce them publicly.
- When a place is taken. A band takes a place when it starts a paid Plus subscription with the founding discount applied and the first payment succeeds. Places go in the order in which those first payments succeed, as recorded by our payment processor.
- When places close. No place can be taken after the earlier of (a) the 25th place being taken and (b) 23:59 UK time on Friday 30 October 2026 (on that date UK time is GMT). A first payment that succeeds after that moment does not take a place.
- The waiting list reserves nothing. Joining the waiting list, on the founders page or anywhere else, does not reserve, hold or guarantee a place. It means you hear the price and the opening date first.
- No more than 25. We will not add places, and we will say publicly when all 25 have gone. We do not publish a running count.
- Places cannot be transferred. A place belongs to the band that took it. It cannot be moved, sold or given to another band.
4. How the discount is applied
- The founding discount is applied with a Founding Band code entered at checkout. We send the code to the waiting list and publish it on the founders page when places open.
- If your band starts a paid subscription within the window while places remain but checks out without the code, email hello@usebandhq.com within 14 days of your first payment. If a place is still available when we apply the discount, your band takes it from that moment, we apply the discount to your subscription, and we refund the difference on your first payment.
5. The founding rate
- Half the standard price. A founding band pays 50% of the standard Plus price for the billing period it has chosen, monthly or annual. The standard price is the one shown at checkout. The discount appears on every invoice.
- If the standard price changes, the founding rate stays at half of the new standard price. We give at least 30 days’ notice by email before any change reaches your subscription, and it takes effect only from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
- Monthly or annual. The discount is the same percentage on either. The standard monthly price costs more over a year than the annual price, so the founding annual rate remains the cheaper of the two.
6. What “continues without ending” means
The founding rate lasts while your band’s Plus subscription continues. None of these ends it:
- Switching between monthly and annual in the billing settings. The discount carries over to the new billing period, and any adjustment for the change is calculated on the discounted price.
- Changing the card, the billing contact or the band’s administrators.
- A failed payment that is paid during the retry period in section 7.
- Cancelling and then reversing the cancellation before it takes effect.
7. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Plus stays on for your band while our payment processor retries the payment for at least 14 days, and we email the billing contact so the card can be updated. If the payment still has not succeeded at the end of the retry period, the subscription ends and so does the founding rate.
8. Cancelling, and the end of the founding rate
- You can cancel at any time from your band’s billing settings, without contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Plus and the founding rate continue until then.
- Once a subscription has ended for any reason (cancellation, non-payment, or termination under the Terms of Service), the founding rate ends with it and cannot be restored. A later subscription is at the standard price.
- A place that ends does not reopen. It is not offered to another band. The offer stays limited to 25 places in total.
9. Cooling-off, refunds and renewal
- 14 days to change your mind. A founding band can cancel within 14 days of its first payment and receive a full refund of that first payment, whether or not it is a consumer in law. Email hello@usebandhq.com or cancel in the billing settings and ask for the refund. The subscription and the founding place then end, and the place does not reopen.
- After the first 14 days, the refund terms in section 6 of the Terms of Service apply. An annual subscription can be refunded pro rata within 30 days of payment. A monthly subscription is not refunded for the current month and will not renew once cancelled.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. We remind you at least 30 days before an annual subscription renews.
- Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law.
10. Prices and VAT
Plus prices are shown including VAT at the rate that applies. Any tax is calculated at checkout, and every invoice is a VAT invoice. We do not publish the price on this website. It is shown at checkout and in the band’s billing settings, and the waiting list hears it first.
11. Roadmap input
Roadmap input is consultative. We ask founding bands for their views before we set priorities for what we build next, and we take them seriously. The decisions stay ours. Founding status is not a promise that any particular feature will be built, or built by a particular date. It gives no right to a refund or price change if something is not built.
12. Changes to these terms
While your founding rate continues, we will not change these Founding Band Terms to your band’s disadvantage, except where the law requires it. Changes to the Terms of Service follow section 13 of those terms.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. Questions to hello@usebandhq.com.
